Legacy Veterinary Clinic founded by Dr. Kaveh Sarhangpour who aims to provide conscious care for community pet families. This sustainable clinic provides general and specialized care.

The vision is to keep wellness in mind for pets, people and planet in all endeavors. The clinic has been designed with this intention, and all efforts are made to stay true to nature with day to day choices.

The Clinic’s goal is to bring academic grade medicine to our community in a cost conscious manner. Our highly qualified veterinarians and staff strive to find the root cause of pets’ warning signals (symptoms) and ailments saving valuable time, money and resources for all.

Veterinarians

Dr. Kaveh Sarhangpour

Founder / Medical Director

Dr. Kaveh Sarhangpour received his DVM degree in 1987. Dr. Sarhangpour has had over two decades of experience, both in academic and clinical settings. He has been a veterinarian in Colorado since 1997 and continues to serve his community today as he holds membership in various professional societies in the US and Europe.

On the clinical side, in addition to his veterinary work, he has helped area veterinarians with advanced ultrasound diagnostics and consultation services. Dr. Sarhangpour also holds accredited continuing education courses for veterinarians in Colorado.

He is passionate about improving quality of life for his patients and clients. Among his favorite recreational activities are playing soccer in a league, enjoying mountain and outdoor activities, and spending time with his family doing various activities such as community gardening, and cultural events.

Dr. Jennifer Foltz

DVM

Dr. Jennifer Foltz joined Legacy Veterinary Clinic in November of 2017. She grew up in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She developed a passion for veterinary medicine while caring for her childhood pets, including dogs, rabbits, frogs, and lizards. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Colorado State University in 2009 followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 2016. She then worked for a small animal clinic in the area for a year before joining the team at Legacy. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and preventative care.

In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and camping in the beautiful Colorado mountains and spending time with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.

Dr. Matthew Khorsand

DVM

Dr. Khorsand grew up in Illinois where he spent most of his time outdoors fishing, boating, and hanging

out with friends. He grew up with Golden Retrievers, hamsters, gerbils, and lizards. Matt always seemed to find and take in animals that were dumped outside his neighborhood which included a farm duck, cat, and St. Bernard.

After high school, he earned a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at University of Illinois at Chicago. During his time at University of Illinois at Chicago he rescued a puppy he named Kaya. She changed his course in life from human medicine to veterinary medicine.  After this, Dr. Khorsand attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated summa cum laude. During his time at Ross, he did a veterinary externship in Costa Rica where he performed spays, neuters, and educated locals about the importance of animal welfare and well-being. He spent his clinical year at Colorado State University where he stayed and work for their Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. He also performed a small animal rotating internship at Cornell University.

Matt enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a strong interest in Cardiology, ultrasound, and internal medicine.

He enjoys snowboarding, fishing, hiking with Bjorn, his Greater Swiss Mountain dog, camping, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family.

Nushin Farjadi

Business Development and Sustainability

Nushin Farjadi attended Metropolitan State College and University of Colorado Boulder and earned a degree in business and marketing.

She has helped the clinic carve and maintain it’s competitive advantage of offering evidence-based, quality care that goes beyond conventional veterinary medicine.

Ms. Farjadi continuously looks for ways to make clinic operations more sustainable and ecologically friendly to help enhance quality of life for patients, pet families, and staff. She is passionate about ecology, wellness, and thriving communities, with yoga, biking, hiking, gardening, snow-shoeing, and cultural activities as favorites.

Kim Moore

Office Manager

Kim was born is a small town in south Texas. She attended Texas A&M University before moving to Colorado in 2000. She is the proud mama of three beautiful humans and also a menagerie of furred, feathered, and scaled kids. She has worked in the veterinary field since 1998 and enjoys getting to know clients and patients everyday. In her free time she is an avid reader, artist, and loves to spend time with family.

Hello! My name is Karime and I was born and raised in Denver. After graduating high school, I decided to begin my career in the veterinary field. I chose to go to Pima Medical Institute and was lucky enough to be placed at Legacy Veterinary Clinic for my Veterinary Assistant internship. I really loved how everyone was passionate about their job and toward our clients and patients as well. I am so happy to join the team and be working with them each day!

Laura Coffman

Assistant Manager, Head Certified Veterinary Technician

Laura was born and raised in Massillon, OH. She attended Kent State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology. After graduating she decided that she wanted to pursue a different career choice and moved to Colorado in 2013 to attend Bel-Rea University of Animal Technology.

Laura interned at Legacy, fell in love with the clients and the team and was hired on upon graduation. When she is not working you can find her hanging out at home with her husband, three dachshunds, Chihuahua and two rescue cats.

Shantel Martinez

Assistant Manager, Head Certified Veterinary Technician

Shantel is a Colorado native and she has always known she would eventually have a career involving animals. She has been a proud owner of horses, cats, dogs, fish, iguanas, hamsters, sugar gliders and her current pet, a hedgehog named Quill Smith. Shantel graduated in June 2014 from Bel-Rea Institute with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She will be taking her state board exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in July 2014. She started at Legacy Veterinary Clinic as an intern from Bel-Rea but shortly after became part of the family.

I’ve lived in Colorado all my life and have a love for animals that led me to receiving a degree in veterinary technology! I had that opportunity to intern here at legacy vet clinic, and was lucky enough to join everyone as an employee afterwards! I love playing video games, and spending time with my guinea pig named Flappy, bearded dragon named Pancake, and black cat named Matilda during my free time.

Anh Huynh

I was born and raised in Vietnam until I was 9 years old, and I’ve lived in Colorado ever since. As a kid I always had a passion for animals, so I decided to attend the Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology where I earned my Associate of Applied Science. I had an amazing opportunity to intern at Legacy Veterinary Clinic and was lucky enough to be hired as a part of this amazing team. During my free time I enjoy listening to music, playing games and watching movies.

Morgan Shaw

I was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. My passion for animals grew while volunteering at animal shelters and while being raised alongside our family dogs and cat. I received a degree as a veterinary technician through Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming. After finishing school I was lucky enough to be able to get an internship here at Legacy Veterinary Clinic. From the beginning of my internship, I knew this would be an amazing place to work. I am so excited to be joining this great team! When I am not working I enjoy spending time outdoors, watching movies and hanging out with my dog, rats and gecko.

Andrea Contreras

Hello! My name is Andrea, but I go by Andy. I’m 27 years old, born in Texas, but moved to colorful Colorado shortly after my first birthday—-and I’ve been here ever since! I graduated in 2020 from Pima Medical Institute with a degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician. After just one week into my internship, I was hired by the amazing team at Legacy Vet Clinic. From day one, I knew it was the perfect place for me. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I’ve learned so much in a short time!

I’m a mother to two wonderful children, as well as to my two playful cats, Hex and Boogie, and my energetic dog, Dion. In my free time, I love spending time outdoors with my family and pets, working out at the gym when I get the chance, or simply relaxing at home with my little ones. Life is busy, but It’s filled with love and joy!

Baile Ross

Veterinary Technician

Baile was born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado. Growing up in a small home with her loving grandparents, she developed a deep appreciation for animals from a young age. Whether it was caring for lizards, birds, cats, dogs, or even the occasional rabbit, Baile always knew she was destined for a career in veterinary medicine.

In March of 2022 Baile began an internship here at Legacy for her last semester
of schooling and has been here ever since. In May of 2022, she graduated with honors and earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology from the Community College of Denver.

She is a proud mother of a son, daughter and fur baby Scout. When she’s not spending time here caring for animals, you’ll often find Baile in the kitchen, baking delicious treats to share with friends and loved ones.

Jazmin Peraza

Veterinary Assistant

Hi, I’m Jazmin!

I was born and raised in Denver, and my passion for animals led me to pursue a career as a Veterinary Assistant at Pima Medical Institute. During my studies, I had the incredible opportunity to complete my externship at Legacy Veterinary Clinic, and from day one, I knew I had found my home.

The team here is not only incredibly skilled, but also genuinely passionate about their work, which made it easy to want to stay. I was fortunate enough to be hired after my externship, and I’m so excited to continue growing alongside such an amazing team.

In the future, I plan to further my education and become a Veterinary Technician, but for now, l am thrilled to be working with pets and their families every day.

When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll likely find me enjoying the great outdoors or traveling with my family. Summer trips are a favorite of mine, as I love exploring new places. Of course, I also spend plenty of time at home with my two cats, Frijol and Milo, who never fail to keep life interesting!

Joy Grover

Veterinary Assistant

Joy has been a dedicated member of the Legacy Veterinary Clinic team since 2020 after completing her education at PIMA medical institute. Outside of work, Joy is a proud cat mom to two beloved kitties, Hendrix and Kenobi. On days she is not at the clinic, she loves spending time with her family, significant other, and friends outdoors enjoying the Colorado scenery or cozying up inside with a book and her pets.
