Anesthesia and Patient Monitoring

Making sure our patients remain safe during surgery and other medical procedures is a priority and extremely important to us.

Anesthesia and patient monitoring vary greatly from clinic to clinic. We use the most effective and up-to-date protocols. The type of anesthesia required depends on the procedure. Some require general anesthesia, while others may only call for local anesthesia. We closely monitor every procedure, regardless if it’s routine or more advanced.

We perform pre-anesthetic blood testing on all pets prior to any general anesthesia. All of our patients receive an IV catheter and fluids using advanced fluid pumps during anesthesia. A veterinary technician will continually assess your pet’s temperature, heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, blood oxygen level and electrocardiography systems using advanced monitoring to help minimize anesthetic risk.
